What about Servicing, Maintenance & Insurance for Boilers?
It is vital to have your Gas Boiler serviced at least once every year, not only to maintain its efficiency, but to also protect yourself from the potential dangers of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning from a faulty device.
The very least that you should do on a regular basis is a Gas Safety Check which will review the following key points:
- Your appliance is burning fuel properly & at the right pressure
- That any gas which is a danger is being removed to the outside atmosphere
- That all ventilation outlets are clear & effectively operating
- Boiler water levels are optimised for proper operation
During this check you should also have Carbon Monoxide detector alarms tested – they are audible warning devices situated close to the boilers and should make a noise that is clearly heard throughout the property.
Your boiler could be due for a service if you have noticed some signs of a change in performance such as the amount of hot water you are getting these days is less that you are used to or the radiators are not quite as hot as before. Very often these issues can be quickly resolved by getting your appliance serviced.
